Artist Bio: Based in Sydney, Valeria Volpini is an Italian-born, largely self-taught artist whose paintings explore the colour, character and quiet surprises of the world around her.
Working primarily in acrylic, she brings a contemporary, playful sensibility to Australian birds, botanicals, still life and landscapes. Her work combines expressive colour, simplified forms and decorative details, balancing recognisable subjects with a more imaginative interpretation.
Originally from Milan, Valeria draws inspiration from both her Italian roots and her life in Australia. The softness of the Italian landscape, the vivid light of the Australian coast and the small details of everyday life all find their way into her paintings.
She enjoys experimenting with colour combinations, patterns and unexpected details to give familiar subjects a fresh perspective, creating paintings that feel individual, uplifting and full of life.
