Autumn is in full swing in Australia, and the chrysanthemums in my backyard have reached their peak bloom. Captivated by their radiant golden petals, I felt compelled to capture their fleeting beauty on canvas. Set against a blue-striped tablecloth, the flowers glow with warmth and vitality, while the cool tones of the background create a striking contrast that enhances their brilliance. The rhythmic folds and diagonal lines of the fabric introduce a sense of movement, bringing energy to the composition. Through expressive brushwork and rich texture, this painting celebrates the quiet joy, abundance, and colour of the autumn season.
