A delicate layering of memory, place and time, this painting evokes the quiet persistence of suburban landscapes. A ghost-like outline of a Queenslander home hovers amid a rich tangle of tropical plants, stylised trees and violet foliage. The architectural frame feels both present and fading, as if held in place by the land’s long memory.
The palette shimmers with saturated purples, dusky pinks and inky greens, grounded by earthy underlayers and crowned by a glowing coral sky. Shadows of trees stretch across the composition, anchoring it to something deeper—something ancient.
This work speaks to the suburban palimpsest: how houses, gardens and lives are layered upon one another across generations. Every leaf, line and light-drenched hue recalls what came before. In this place, “everything here remembers”.
