‘Summer Sorbet’ is a vibrant and uplifting abstract painting by Jennifer Bell, inspired by the joyful colours of mango sorbet and the warmth of the Australian summer. Created with layers of expressive mark-making and playful colour combinations, this piece radiates positivity, spontaneity, and light.
Part of a feel-good series of works that — in the words of Marie Kondo — truly “spark joy,” Summer Sorbet is a celebration of seasonal happiness. Radiant oranges, sun-washed pinks, and soft yellows dance together across the canvas in rhythmic, overlapping patterns. The energy is both playful and composed, with just the right balance of structure and freedom.
This piece was featured in Grand Designs Australia magazine and is perfect for collectors or interior designers looking for bold, joyful colour to brighten a contemporary space.
Artist Bio: Jennifer Bell is a Brisbane based contemporary artist working across painting, mixed media and woven paper.
