Loom Rise draws from the shifting forms of coastal sand dunes, where soft curves, changing light and layered colour create a sense of movement across the landscape.
Built through loose, gestural marks and subtle tonal changes, the work captures the feeling of dunes shaped by wind and weather. It reflects my ongoing interest in memory, atmosphere and the Australian coastline.
Artist Bio: Kate Paea is a Sydney-based contemporary artist working across painting and sculpture. Her practice explores memory, atmosphere and place through colour, gesture and form, often moving between abstraction and subtle references to landscape and the figure. Kate completed her honours in ceramics at UNSW College of Art and Design and now maintains an independent studio practice alongside selected design and teaching work.
