White Gum Trees is a striking landscape painting that captures the intricate patterns and textures of the desert from an aerial perspective. Rich with movement and colour, this large abstract work brings together bold hues—vibrant reds, fiery oranges, and soft pinks - to create a dynamic portrayal of the Australian outback.
The painting began with expressive abstract marks, layered and built up to evoke the contours and forms of a vast arid terrain. These organic patterns were then embellished with a scattering of tiny white gum trees and desert flora, dotting the surface like a visual map of life across the landscape. Each detail adds rhythm and structure to the composition, highlighting the unique interplay between nature’s geometry and chaos.
With its powerful colour palette and intricate detail, this piece brings energy and texture to contemporary interiors, especially in open living areas or entryways where its scale and story can be appreciated. The black-edged canvas offers a modern finish, ready to hang as is.
