Peaceful Place is part of my Ocean series. I really enjoy capturing the quiet, mindful moments of the ocean and from painting these ocean works. The sea creates moments for reflection, for healing and an opportunity to recharge. For me, it is so calming. I love being near and in the ocean, it’s like a complete reset
Artist Bio: Rachel paints abstract landscapes and the places she most frequently visit in nature is what inspires me to paint. From references of granite outcrops of Girraween National Park
and the coastal beauty of Yuraygir, to the captivating views of the sky and mountains from the verandah of her home.
Each painting is created through a process of layering paint and experimenting with composition, mark-making and the colour palette. I always seek to express an ephemeral sense of balance, depth and luminosity.
