A woman standing in the sunshine outside of a gelato shop, inner city Melbourne over the summer of 2025-26. In this painting, like in others in the series of 10, I sought to portray the lovely feeling and sense of freedom which is summer in the city. With bold use of muted greens offset with gold and yellow, the figure in the sun is set against a backdrop of lavish detail in the gelato shop glimpsed through the windows. Recently shown in the Celebrating Urban Life group exhibition at Red Gallery.
Artist Bio: I have an upcoming exhibition in June 2026 at Artemisia, Windsor: surreal forested landscapes interspersed with dreeamlike elements. Previous shows at Brunswick Street Gallery (BSG), Painted City: landscape paintings of the inner north and Melbourne City, and a series on Wildflowers found in the city. I have participated in group exhibitions across Australia, and l hold a bachelor of Visual Arts & Design, Postgraduate degree in Creative Writing and Bachelor of Arts.
