Luna
Moon Moth
30 × 40 cm | Mixed media on canvas | Framed in solid walnut
Inspired by the graceful Moon Moth (Actias sp.), Luna is a reflection on quiet transformation and the gentle unfolding of the self. Emerging through one of nature’s most extraordinary life cycles, the moth becomes a symbol of renewal, reminding us that growth often takes place in silence, long before it is visible to the world.
Created as part of The Sun, The Moon and The Stars, this work celebrates the contemplative hours of the night, where intuition replaces certainty and reflection becomes a path to clarity. It speaks to the process of shedding old identities and embracing a life that feels more authentic. Transformation is not about becoming someone else, but remembering who we have always been.
Built with richly layered mixed media, soft pastels and reflective paints, the surface responds to changing light, creating a gentle luminosity across the moth’s wings. Delicate yet resilient, Luna is a quiet meditation on renewal, authenticity and the beauty of becoming.
