This painting captures the raw intensity of a hibiscus flower through bold abstraction and expressive colour. Layers of crimson, coral, peach, and soft pink unfold in sweeping brushstrokes, giving the bloom a sense of movement and emotional depth. The dark central stamen anchors the composition while rich burgundy shadows contrast against luminous petals, creating a balance between delicacy and drama. Rather than aiming for realism, the work transforms the hibiscus into a living force vibrant, sensual, and almost volcanic in its energy. - Emmaleen Diaz
