Kneel is built around the quiet form of a woman kneeling. Soft, interlocking shapes move between figure and landscape, held in deep burgundy, dusty pink, terracotta and muted olive. There is a sense of stillness and weight in the work. Something tender, grounded and inward.
Artist Bio: Kate Paea is a Sydney-based contemporary artist working across painting and sculpture. Her practice explores memory, atmosphere and place through colour, gesture and form, often moving between abstraction and subtle references to landscape and the figure. Kate completed her honours in ceramics at UNSW College of Art and Design and now maintains an independent studio practice alongside selected design and teaching work.
