Artist Bio: Karin Cutler is mixed media painter creating richly textured abstract paintings as well as moody, tactile, minimalistic still life paintings. Influenced by her Scandinavian background she enjoys working with a muted palette, often with hints of brighter colours or metallics hidden in layers. She likes to create paintings that are tactile and evoke feelings of peace and calm yet have layers of intrigue. She finds inspiration in the natural environment including decay and weathering and her paintings are guided by emotions.
Karin splits her time between two studio spaces; one on a rural property on the Mid North Coast of NSW and the other in her Sydney home.
Her paintings are in private collections in Australia, the USA, South Africa, Sweden, Greece, Austria and Hong Kong.
