Built through layers of accumulation, concealment and recovery, Soft Edges reflects the quiet ways experience reshapes us. Like sea glass carried by the tide, our histories are not erased but transformed. Though our journeys differ, we all carry the marks of where we've been.
Artist Bio: Rather than beginning with a fixed concept, each painting evolves through a process of discovery, allowing meaning to emerge from the work itself. Van Dam is the winner of the Hunter Emerging Art Prize (Painting) and was a semi-finalist in the Newcastle Club Foundation Art Prize. Her work has been featured on the cover of magazines and exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout New South Wales.
