The person waiting at the crosswalk might be celebrating the best day of their life. The one rushing past with headphones in might be holding back tears. Someone laughing into their phone could be masking a quiet heartbreak, while someone with a blank expression might be experiencing pure joy on the inside.
This piece is a reminder that every face in this city carries a story we'll never fully know, a whole life of love, loss, hope, and struggle moving in parallel with our own. We are all strangers to each other, yet we share the same sidewalks, the same subway cars, the same fleeting moments. Next time you pass someone on the street, remember: they're living an entire world you can't see.
