Floor Girl presents the female nude in a deliberately unidealised, vulnerable pose. Curled close to the floor in a fetal, almost crawling position, the figure rejects the polished conventions of the traditional nude. Exposed body hair and anatomical details are left visible, emphasising the awkwardness and physical reality of the body. Loose, rapid and energetic brushwork, combined with vibrant, non flesh-like colours, heightens the sense of rawness and immediacy.
Artist Bio: Milla Weideman is a figurative painter based on the Mornington Peninsula, Australia. Her practice centres on portraiture, the body and domestic still life, drawing from personal relationships and familiar spaces.
