This graphite drawing celebrates the softness, strength, and presence of the body through an intimate, closely cropped composition. Gentle tonal transitions and careful attention to light highlight the natural contours, folds, and textures of the figure, embracing the body as a site of comfort, desire, and self-acceptance. Presented in a timber frame with an off-white mat board, the work invites viewers to consider the body through a female and queer gaze, where vulnerability and empowerment exist side by side.
Artist Bio: My practice explores self-reflexive eroticism and sexual exploration as gestures of feminine empowerment, positioning the body as a site of agency, pleasure, and cultural value through painting, drawing, sculpture, and video performance.
Working from a perspective between a Female and Queer Gaze, I challenge the hetero-patriarchal Male Gaze and reframe feminine desire as autonomous, exploratory, and unapologetically empowered.
