Artist Bio: Marissa Lico is a visual artist based on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales. Working in acrylic and mixed media, her practice is shaped by texture, layering, and an intuitive approach to surface. Drawing on her Italian heritage and a deep reverence for the ordinary, her paintings explore how ritual and memory shape the way we experience home, food, and connection.
Her work evokes the glow of a shared table, a street softening into evening, the unhurried gesture of gathering - moments that feel both intimate and timeless. Grounded in a background in photography, her work often begins with the captured moment, bringing together subject, memory, and storytelling with warmth and intention.
Marissa holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts and balances her studio practice with a career in teaching. She has been a finalist in respected art prizes including the Mini Series Art Prize and the Inside This Box Art Prize, and her work has been exhibited in galleries across Australia and Scotland.
