Not the water itself, but the air and space that hold it—the places you find after the waves have carried you in. Wild Blue is a breath of sky and shore, a reminder of the expansiveness that surrounds the sea, and the calm that follows its wildness.
Artist Bio: Rather than beginning with a fixed concept, each painting evolves through a process of discovery, allowing meaning to emerge from the work itself. Van Dam is the winner of the Hunter Emerging Art Prize (Painting) and was a semi-finalist in the Newcastle Club Foundation Art Prize. Her work has been featured on the cover of magazines and exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout New South Wales.
