This graphite drawing explores the relationship between the body, intimacy, and self-expression through a closely cropped view of the figure. The contrast between soft tonal shading and the fishnet pattern draws attention to texture, form, and gesture, creating a sense of both vulnerability and confidence. Presented in a timber frame with an off-white mat board, the work invites viewers to engage with the body through a female and queer gaze.
Artist Bio: My practice explores self-reflexive eroticism and sexual exploration as gestures of feminine empowerment, positioning the body as a site of agency, pleasure, and cultural value through painting, drawing, sculpture, and video performance.
Working from a perspective between a Female and Queer Gaze, I challenge the hetero-patriarchal Male Gaze and reframe feminine desire as autonomous, exploratory, and unapologetically empowered.
