Baba's (maybe) is the familiar within the foreign. It's kick-ons at a mate's house, having a smoke huddled up in an array of weird jumpers and jackets pulled from the back of a closet; or maybe it's not. Through an unstable mix of textures, lines and colours, this work exposes the tapestries of cultural and personal reflections, where conversations between people and place occurs.
Artist Bio: Anja is guided by an interest in non-descript composition and curiousness of space, her practice seeks to evoke both the familiar and foreign within the viewer, in turn igniting a politics of reception. For Anja, a painting is always frozen in its own moment in time, and it is through filling space with remixed objects and forms, where conversations between people and place occurs.
