An original large square format abstract landscape painting by Belinda Marshall from the Quilted colleciton. Story of the work: A layer cake cross section of the bush beside the beach path. Branches wrapped around and folded over like bent knees leaning on the ground. Discarded snippets sprinkled on the dirt. Half bent elbows, the odd exposed woven-in thread, in reach for the sky.

Artist Bio: Belinda Marshall is a Melbourne-based abstract landscape painter. Her work honours the power of the landscape to draw us from our everyday preoccupations into a place of deep and tranquil connection. She is inspired by the shapes revealed when landscape forms interact with the skyline, when light filters through the moving canopy and falls in patches on cascading lower levels and banks – the shifting and merging of layers in her work offer a softer world with endless room to breathe. Belinda’s work hangs in collections around the globe and has been featured in local and international interiors magazines and blogs.
