Where I Left My Daydream captures a quiet pause between moments — a place where time softens and the mind gently wanders. Layered landscapes unfold in playful yet tender rhythms, where trees stand like silent companions and colours drift freely, untethered from realism. The scene is not a destination but a state of being — one shaped by memory, longing, and emotional refuge.
Part of the series Amongst Another While, this work reflects my ongoing dialogue with nature as a space of escape and return. Amid the demands and sharp edges of reality, these imagined landscapes become places where I momentarily leave parts of myself behind, only to rediscover them renewed. The fragmented paths and shifting perspectives echo inner movement — the act of daydreaming as both withdrawal and reconnection.
This painting invites the viewer to linger, to rest within its softness, and to recall their own quiet places of escape — where daydreams are left, waiting patiently to be found again.
Artist Bio: Amy Kim’s art seamlessly weaves resilience and vulnerability, connection and solitude, and identity and memory into a rich tapestry of visual storytelling. A Melbourne-based artist with roots in Seoul, South Korea, Amy draws from her cultural heritage and multidisciplinary background in painting, design, and education to create works that fuse the tangible with the surreal. Her practice is marked by bold, vibrant forms, fragmented shapes, and organic lines that narrate the paradoxes of modern human relationships and deeply personal stories.
