Bold, blazing and dreamlike, “Molten Memory” evokes a landscape caught between earth’s ancient past and a vivid, imagined present. Vibrant rock-like forms — built from molten reds, searing oranges, lilacs and electric blues — rise from a richly layered green ground, like glowing fragments of geological memory scattered across a primordial terrain. Above, a warm pink sky stretches expansively, casting an otherworldly glow that blurs the line between land and atmosphere.
The painting explores transformation and time — how solid forms shift, erode, and re-form — yet here those natural processes are reimagined in unapologetically joyful colour. Each molten shape becomes a repository: of place, heat, pressure, and recollection. A celebration of the earth’s fiery origins, “Molten Memory” invites viewers to contemplate the emotional landscape we inherit beneath our feet — and the beauty that can erupt from beneath the surface.
Artist Bio: Amy Ruth (Grey) is an artist based in South-East Queensland, known for her vibrant, bold, and eye-catching paintings. Her work celebrates the beauty of nature and urban environments, blending imagination with vivid colors that evoke feelings of joy and delight.
Amy was a finalist in the Revival Emerging Art Prize 2025 and winner of Pine Rivers Show Non-Traditional Art winner in 2024.
Amy’s paintings often feature lush gardens, character-filled houses, and striking landscapes, all brought to life with her signature palette of harmonious yet striking hues. Drawing on her background in landscape architecture and urban design, she infuses her art with a passion for placemaking, creating pieces that offer an aspirational sense of place and a touch of utopia.
