From the series created for Forest Dreaming - an exhibition of paintings at Artemisia in Windsor from May-June 2026 - forest landscapes with anachronistic elements painted from life, memory, experience and a various photo references. The forest scene suggested a figure to me, and I painted the statue in the forest partly from imagination, partly from photo reference, but entirely as if the figure belongs. A piece that pushes the boundaries of realist landscape painting.
Artist Bio: I have an upcoming exhibition in June 2026 at Artemisia, Windsor: surreal forested landscapes interspersed with dreeamlike elements. Previous shows at Brunswick Street Gallery (BSG), Painted City: landscape paintings of the inner north and Melbourne City, and a series on Wildflowers found in the city. I have participated in group exhibitions across Australia, and l hold a bachelor of Visual Arts & Design, Postgraduate degree in Creative Writing and Bachelor of Arts.
