‘Aloft’ emerged from actively observing the shifting-skies over my local northern NSW hinterland. In this abstracted composition a central cloud form floats above textural coloured grounds. The chunky-obvious brushtrokes celebrate the material and motion. This painting is part of the larger Cloudbusting series, named after the Kate Bush song, a tune that harbours imagination and optimism for me. Looking up at the sky initiates mind-wandering and elevates my mood to a higher realm, may this original painting invite you there.
Artist Bio: Jacqueline is interested in painting what it feels like moving through and connecting with particular environments. The abstract paintings build up over time with emotive colour and gooey brushwork being key.
Jacqueline has completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Honours in Creative Industries and Doctorate in Philosophy (Creative Arts). She has worked as an artist and educator for the past decade and has had several solo exhibitions.
She currently lives in Mcleans Ridges, northern NSW with her young family.
