Crazy Cockies by Carolyn Brennan-Tucker - this painting was inspired by black cockatoos flying through the landscape near Alice Springs.
“This painting should come with a sound track. The whistlings, croakings, rasping chattering of the red tailed black cockatoo as they call to each other in flight , when perched or feeding is one of the nicest, cheeriest, sound and always has an effect of calming happiness upon me. Watching these guys’ playful antics, hanging upside-down on power lines, for seemingly no other reason than for the fun of it, always makes me feel so happy. I photographed these chaps on the 10th May on my way to school and spent a pleasant ten minutes videoing and photographing them before they decided they had had enough and flew off. This painting is my interpretation of their flight.” - Carolyn.
The edges of the canvas are painted to extend the beautiful painting on the front - it would almost be a shame to frame it and miss out on more of the painting!
