This painting belongs to my Flourish series that celebrates Spring.
Through flowing compositions and vibrant hues, I translate intangible experiences - joy, wonder, or introspection - into colour, form, and movement, evoking the emotional resonance of a place perceived through the mind’s eye and shaped by the heart.
Artist Bio: Mina Afra is an Iranian-born Australian painter based in Melbourne. Her painting practice is deeply engaged with her emotional experience in nature. She uses the subject of landscapes, not as an observed scene to render, but rather as a trigger for an internal experience.
Afra holds a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Tehran University of Art. A self-taught painter, she has been dedicated to creating art full-time since 2020.
She has exhibited in numerous group shows across Australia and was awarded the Judges’ Prize at the 2024 Albert Park Art Show. In 2023, she received the 'Best in Show’ award at the Albert Park College Annual Exhibition. Her landscapes have been selected as finalists for the 2025 Ripper Art Prize, the 2024 Fleurieu Biennale Art Prize, and featured in the Salon des Refusés of the Lethbridge Gallery 20000 Small Scale Prize. Her paintings are held in private collections throughout Australia
