I made this painting reflecting on warm summer evenings spent at the Devilbend Reservoir. The water was so chilly!
I adore painting light bouncing all over the place, reflecting in the water, shimmering through trees. In painting my friend, I wanted him to emanate warmth, with that lovely chromatic shadow invoking a rainbow serpent emerging from the water.
