This little oil painting was inspired by the Australian natives along the coast on the trail up to the lighthouse at Bryon Bay. Catching glimpses of the sea through the foliage as you walk higher and higher. On this day particular day there were whales frolicking out on the sea and a wallaby eating grass on the edge of the cliff, the sea breeze whistling past my ears as I walked.
Oil on canvas, framed in a beautiful oak floating frame, this artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Canvas size is 20cm x 20cm, framed size is 23 x 23cm.
Artist Bio: Suzanne is a contemporary landscape artist based in Brisbane, QLD. With a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and a qualification in Visual Art teaching, she has a solid foundation in the arts. Growing up near the beach in Western Australia, Suzanne has always felt a deep connection to the coast. It’s no surprise that she now lives and works from her home studio in Brisbane’s bayside, close to the water.
In recent years, Suzanne has returned to her art practice full-time. She began her artistic journey in Western Australia as an interdisciplinary artist, but her passion for painting has always remained central. Her current work focuses on the layering and blending of colours in the paint medium, a technique that she feels best captures the ever-changing atmosphere and tides of the bayside landscapes that inspire her.
Suzanne’s art aims to evoke a feeling—a moment in time experienced while standing at the water’s edge. Through abstract and expressionist techniques, she explores the relationship between human experience and the natural environment. Using expressive colours and brushstrokes, she seeks to convey a sense of tranquility and timelessness in her work, where nature’s rhythms flow freely and undisturbed.
