This work was part of a series of 18 pieces for an exhibition at The Main Gallery, Adelaide. Called Silencing the Chaos, a social commentary about our times. The Rallying Call painting came out of a song I was humming by Peter Paul and Mary: If I had a hammer , I 'd ring it in the morning, I'd ring it in the evening... all over this land! I'd hammer out danger, I'd ring out a warning, I'd ring out love between my brothers and sisters.... its about the urgency to love one another. There is a blue hammer coming down onto a sort of anvil on the right, it is about a call to come on a journey, a peace loving journey. The left side of the work has more light and roads leading to whatever you as my viewer will see there.
