Past The Reaching Gum, 2024
Oil on canvas, framed in oak
Height 33 cm x Width 33 cm
Artwork is framed and ready to hang & comes with certificate of authenticity
This piece was inspired by the soft dusky colours of the Australian country side. Using a palette knife to make the most of the buttery texture of the oil paints, this work depicts a dirt road as it meanders past the gum tree and towards a lake in the distance. The white branches of the gum seem to reach into the sky and the grasses below are highlighted in blush pink. Framed in oak, this piece is perfect for bringing the gentle beauty of the country into your home.
Artist Bio: Charlotte Moore, an emerging artist, has lived on the Gold Coast in Queensland all her life. Her love of its beautiful coastline and the hills marking the transition from coast to country inspire much of her work.
Charlotte’s primary medium is oil paint and she works with an impressionist style, inspired by time spent in the natural environment. Both light and colour play an important role in her work conveying a sense of calm and peace that comes from being immersed in nature, while also evoking a familiarity of Gold Coast scenes and the Australian landscape.
