This impressionistic style oil painting was inspired by a river flowing freely after a rainy season. The flowing water breaks over its usual banks creating a beautiful scene. Captured with thickly textured oils using a palette knife, this piece conveys a sense of light and peace through the use of colours inspired by the Australian countryside. The blush pinks in the hills, sage greens in the gums and powder blue sky create a sense of warmth and calm that comes when exploring this expansive country.
