I've been wanting to paint this beautiful Japanese cloth (Tenugui) for years. These lemons from our tree at home paired with it so vibrantly, I couldn't help myself. I enjoyed meditating on the warping checkerboard pattern equally as creating bold, impasto brushstrokes on the fruit.
