This piece belongs to a collection by the artist called "Sed de bosque," created in Buenos Aires last year. It is one of the main artworks that reflects her love and commitment to the preservation of Patagonia’s landscapes in his home country, Argentina. It was made entirely with cotton fabric and a handmade watercolour coating. Turquoise and blue tones were applied as a ritual to protect this area from the destruction caused by the forest fires that occurred in the south in 2022.
Artist Bio: Catalina has always had her artistic practice deeply connected to nature—its chaos, beauty, and transformation. Themes of life and death create a tension that permeates her work. She is inspired by altered landscapes, which manifest some of her most compelling pieces. For Leichner, painting serves as a path to self-knowledge and spiritual exploration, and she aims to transmit this passion through her brush and various mediums.
